Holding a safe space for your healing and growth

My name is Nicole Rikos. I am a warm, experienced somatic psychotherapist and trauma specialist counsellor. I offer one on one therapy sessions that integrate talk therapy with body based approaches, including; Somatic Experiencing (SE)® and SE touch, embodied movement, depth psychology, attachment repair and inner child healing.

I have a deep interest in all things related to holistic health and well-being. I am inspired to help people to heal and to see how their lives transform.

I work with adults who are experiencing a range of life challenges and stress-related conditions including those recovering from traumatic events. Some are experiencing symptoms of PTSD, chronic pain, anxiety, low mood, grief or relationship difficulties and others are feeling “stuck” or disconnected in life.

My work is all about giving people the space, language and practices to gently release stress and trauma with a focus on noticing their bodies response.

Frequently asked questions

People can come to therapy to address a specific issue such as chronic stress, adjusting to life after a traumatic event, recovery from illness, relationship issues, grief or loss.

You could be experiencing: anxiety, hyper vigilance, problems with sleeping or eating, panic attacks, chronic pain, persistant sadness, worry, shame, guilt or anger.

Other people may have grown up in an unsafe environment, not had their developmental needs met, experience self- sabotaging behaviours or limiting belief systems that they can’t quite seem to fully understand or get on top of.

People can also come to therapy to understand themselves a little better or simply get some help during challenging times.
Our sessions involve a combination of traditional talk therapy and body oriented therapeutic approaches.

This supports you to become more aware of your bodily responses, bringing you into a deeper connection with yourself. With this awareness we are encouraged to improve our well-being, relationships and emotional and mental health.

Sessions are tailored to your circumstances, at a pace and style that best supports you.
This is dependent on you and your goals; it can be short or long term, a few weeks or a few years, concentrating on a specific issue or exploring your life and habits more generally and holistically.

Nicole's warmth, compassion, and insights have helped me to address life-long, complex trauma and build a toolkit I can reach for when my body tells me it needs care. Properly addressing trauma takes time, but it is worth the investment to expand into a more aligned life”
